A BIG THANK YOU to the following who have donated to support my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2013:
Manitoba Harvest for 5 lbs. of Hemp Hearts. Hemp Hearts pack a powerful punch of protein and omegas. A 3 Tablespoon serving
of Hemp Hearts contains 10g of easy to digest protein, 10g of omegas – and
many more minerals. This will help me to stay healthy on the trail. It has a delicious nutty taste and I'll enjoy them as a daily snack and add them to a meal in the evening. For more info Manitoba Harvest
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce (Bear Ninja) Cannon for a meal cozy and two cooking bags, a Survival Bandana and AT trail mapdana. Bruce was a guide on a fitpacking.com hike I took in late October on the Appalachian Trail. I liked his system for cooking and he shared that his wife makes pot cozys. When I received the cozy in the mail, he surprised me with the bandanas which are always handy on the trail.
Zpacks.com for a Roll Top Blast Food Bag. For more info Zpacks
Coromega for 120 days of Coromega 3+D and 60 days of Coromega Heart. Coromega is packaged in convenient daily-dose pouches which makes it a squeeze (get it?) to take on-the-go. It's a refreshingly delicious, creamy, orange flavor with NO FISHY aftertaste. It will benefit my heart, my brain and my joints. For more info see their website Coromega
Dr. Charles Johnson, hiker, and friend for a prescription to carry with me to treat Lyme's Disease in case I get bitten by a deer tick and don't get it removed in time. I followed several trail journals last year and several people had to leave the trail due to Lyme's Disease. Now, I feel a little more prepared.
Dr. Keith Caudelle, my eye doctor, who gave me a prescription just in case I might get an eye infection.
Ennis Laney gave me a pink Freedom micro tiny flashlight, 5 safety modes, 45 lumens and he made a beautifully knotted burgundy lanyard so I can wear it around my neck.
Jane Collins for helping me keep this blog and Trail Journals updated in a timely manner.
To All Who Give A Donation to Homes For Our Troops, thank you so very much. I will send an official thank you note from the trail or when I complete the journey.
To All Who Pray For me, I am very grateful for your support and words cannot adequately express what your prayers mean to me. Some things are not possible without prayer.
My husband who will hold down the fort and help me with whatever when I call. Looking forward to meeting him for our 43rd wedding anniversary wherever I am at that time.
Nunc Coepi "Now I Begin" -- "what was is past, what will be is hidden in the future, and it is only now--this day, this moment--that counts. We can begin fresh each morning if we decide to live our lives that way. The miracle isn't that the chance is there; it always has been there. The miracle is what happens when we reach out to embrace it." From the book Believing in Myself by Earnie Larsen & Carol Hegarty.
